Bruges

The next morning we started our day with a delicious breakfast at our hotel. Being in Belgium I shouldn't have been surprised, but the hot chocolate was really good.
Exploring Bruges

We stopped at this chocolate shop know for its wacky kinds of chocolate, including "Miss Piggy", made with pieces of bacon, "Asian Confetti", with rice vinegar, soy sauce and sesame seeds, "Cebolla", with almonds and fried onions and "Green Tokyo", with marzipan and wasabi. We were there first thing in the morning, so that is why it looks like we were the only ones brave enough to go for it. But when we passed in the afternoon that line was reaching far out the door.
Next we headed to The Chocolate Story museum. Funny thing is that we ran into an old friend from BYU who is now living in Amsterdam at this museum. Small world!

The museum culminated in t chocolate making demonstration and a sample of a chocolate. Pretty good, but when you are used to the Maison Cailler in Switzerland where the finale is the chocolate sample room heaven, expectations run high.
Next we headed to the French fry museum, which are not French at all, but Belge.

We enjoyed more of Bruges after the museums and then headed in for the night.
At breakfast the next morning the staff brought out a bowl of chocolate eggs for us. They said that usually they only do it the day of Easter, but since the kids were there the day before Easter they brought them out especially for them.
They were thrilled.

After breakfast we were on our way to Amsterdam
Brief stop at the Antwerp train station
