Jaxon the Rock Climber

Last weekend some friends that we know through Jaxon's school invited us to go rock climbing. They are really into the outdoors and have all the gear, which was great for us. It was Jaxon's first time rock climbing and I have to say that he did really well. He was a little intimidated at first, but I told him that I would give him some chocolate if he tried it. Once he started up it was hard to get him to stop (we didn't want him to go too high on his own, just in case); I'm pretty sure he would have made it to the top. Of course, afterward he kept on reminding me about the chocolate I owed him. I like that I can get him to do almost anything for candy.

Me and Daniel. I think I have a new passion...

And that little itty-bitty person at the end of the rope up there is me.

Jaxon repelling. It was adorable. I think he was really starting to get the knack.

Reunited

So my very best friend from Houston just came to visit me. I guess I had finally nagged her enough and she figured I would stop bugging her if she just gave in. She came with her husband, Ryan, and I also managed to talk her into bringing her daughter Claire, who Jaxon was still saying he wanted to marry after a year and a half of separation. They stayed for only a week, which wasn't enough for me, but they were so fun to have here and we had a great time showing them around a little bit. We took them out to Cassis the day after they came into town. Jaxon and Claire took the train with me and were able to have a great time together no matter where they were.
Making sand castles is really fun...until monster Jonas comes around to ruin everything.

In Arles

Enjoying some waffles and hot chocolate in Arles

What does Claire see in that kid?
Saying their goodbyes. It was just so much fun having them. Now to figure out how to get them to come back again...

Surgitan

Ready to go, but we forgot Jonas' coat on a cold morning. No worries Jaxon had a few extra in the car.
We decided to try to get to the top of that mountain.

We did not quite make it but sure enjoyed the walk until the wind picked up.

A look back at Marseille from the mountain.

Jaxon started getting sad so I had him lay down in some grass to cry.

I cheered him up by making toot sounds which got him laughing.

Jonas then joined in the fun. He can only say a few words, but knows how to make a very realistic toot sound and understands that this is one of the funniests things in the world - thanks to Jaxon.
Looking back at the mountain we almost got to the top of.
All I can say is you can't hid gangsta.
A look down the coastline. There is some nice coves with crystal clear water.

A look down the other side. Don't worry I was not too close to the edge.....
Jaxon the explorer.

The wind got pretty crazy as the day progressed.

What a fun day!

A Holy Hike (Sainte Baume)

A couple months ago we all went hiking to the top of the Sainte Baume. Jonas is ready to go.

There was some snow which Jaxon enjoyed walking in.

There was a beautiful church built in a cave which Jaxon enjoyed.

A little bird enjoying the view.

Janet and Jaxon on top of the mountain

Jonas opening his mouth really wide for a piece of fromage.

A little church on the top.
