Last day in Lisbon

To begin our last day in Lisbon we took the old trolley the to St. George castle and the Alfama district.

A little nap after a lot of milk

This I had never seen: a guys playing the accordion with a chihuahua holding the money bucket in his mouth. Of course you have to give the dog some change.
I was a sucker for the tile art in the metro stations.

We hung out at the Parc das Nacos before we needed to go to the airport
.
Depressed Jonas eating by himself after another wrestling match.

The music garden

A bunny with pilot goggles.
We ate our last Portuguese meal on the plane. They had these ham and cheese sandwiches that they would make on these sweet rolls with coconut sugary goodness on the top. It sounds a little strange, but amazingly delicious.

sintra

The next day we headed out for a day trip to Sintra. We barely missed the first train out by less than a minute. So we decided to get breakfast. And this is the breakfast that nearly made us miss the next train. But we caught it with seconds to spare.
First we visited Pena Palace.

We were on a dragon hunt in the royal gardens.

Daniel said this was like our couch from college

Our trusty dragon hunter was well equipped.

Next up was the Moorish castle.

The specialty pastries from Sintra
After Sintra we caught the bus to beach. It was not exactly direct and the windy roads made us a little queasy. We did, however, go by Cabo de Roca, the most westerly point of Europe. The boys slept through it.

Even the crosswalks were beautifully tiled.
Baby girl loved discovering the beach.

The joys of eating the sand.

Sandman

Jaxon was really surprised when he couldn't pick up the bag he had filled with sand.

We enjoyed a delicious seafood meal. The boys, of course, used their best restaurant manners. As always.

Jonas and Jaxon were wrestling on the train back to Lisbon so we had them sit on different benches. Jaxon never cares when he is separated, but Jonas always looks so depressed...
