Christmas in Cappadocia

We had brought the kids' stockings for Christmas. You would think that since they knew they would only be getting small things they could sleep in a bit; but no, Jaxon was up and ready at 6 in the morning. He had a while to wait until he could open his presents, but his early rising did allow him to catch the ascent of all the early-morning hot air balloons that the rest of us missed out on.

Saying goodbye to Gedik Cave Hotel
We did a little carpet shopping. While we didn't buy, we did enjoy some delicious apple tea and in any case, the kids love playing in carpet stores.

After leaving Goreme we visited Zelve open-air museum, another haven for the kids.

Then we said goodbye to Cappodocia and headed back to Kayseri to catch our flight to Istanbul.

  1. I recognize those pajama's! Is there anywhere in the world that you HAVEN'T been? I was particularly jealous of this post. Wish I could have crashed another one of your exotic Christmas's.
