Exploring Marrakech

We enjoyed our first breakfast on the terrasse of the riad the next morning: fresh orange juice, fluffy crepes and biscuity things with fig, apricot and strawberry jam and hot mint tea.
Heading out from the riad
We told the boys that they could pick one thing that they wanted from Place Jemaa El Fna, either a toy or a picture with a monkey on their shoulder or with the snake charmers. Or a henna tattoo; why not? Jonas chose this instrument and Jaxon got a toy snake.

After exploring the souks for awhile we headed up to eat lunch at a restaurant overlooking the Place. It was really inexpensive and surprisingly good. The only downside was baby Eva's blowout. It seemed like she always had a blowout, or at least went caca every time we sat down to eat. At first we couldn't figure out why that was, but then we realized that it coincided with the moment we took her out of the scarf.

Daniel was trying to sneak a picture of the snake charmers, but then noticed so he didn't get it.
However, I did manage to sneak of free picture of a monkey. The boys thought it was really funny that they were wearing diapers. Better that than monkey feces all over the Place.
Next we headed over the the Koutoubia minaret.

In the gardens surrounding the minaret the boys found this little spot that rolly-polies apparently love.

When we got back to our riad that evening the kids decided to take a dip in the plunge pool. However, the could only withstand the cold temperatures so long

Late night snack of roasted almonds and peanuts, raisins, figs, dates and oranges from the market...yummy
