The next day we started off with a delicious breakfast: romanian pancakes, milk straight from the cow, a plate full of meat.
Jonas passed out on his chair. We thought he was just tired, that is, until we got into the rental car and be vomited all over it. Our hostess Iulia, was very helpful and Daniel was very impressed by the skill with which she wiped off our child's vomit from soiled articles with her bare hands. Once he was cleaned up we grabbed some plastic bags and were on our way.
Jaxon, Evaëlle and I visited the local market
Pigs in a van
Daniel deciding whether he dares cross one of the ominous looking bridges that were all over
We drove up to visit the 'Merry Cemetary'
Headstones were decorated by detailed wood carvings, som more morbid than others. Some illustrated how the person died--lots of people his by cars.
Some were less morbid, we think. Unless this woman died while cooking
This guy had his head cut off
The kids lit some candles
We are not sure what this one was about
Kid who drowned--good reminder
This poor accountant died for working too much when he was only 48
Pelicans had staked their claim here
The home of Elie Wiesel--before he was shipped off to a concentration camp.
Next we visited an open-museum. Daniel's comment was 'Why go to an open-air museum, we are already in one!"
The kids were excited to get some of this noise balls
And nothing better than coming home to a delicious homemade meal that I didn't make (and wouldn't clean up after)
A delicious blueberry dessert. The kids pretended they were vapires drinking blood
Our best vampire!
