The hard way to paradise

Waking up for breakfast the next morning

We started the day by visiting the Roman ruins of Lixus. It is only partially excavated and somewhat desolate as a tourist site, which made it all the more charming. There was no entrance fee, no barriers (i.e., no rules) and one gardien that seemes very bored. He followed us around and made little baskets out of grass for the kids. Seems like he had had a lot of practice. He was very nice though.

After that we were ready to go spend the rest of the afternoon at the beach. Paradise Beach was highly recommended to us. However, the road was washed away during the recent flooding. We tried once and then turned back, then got stuck trying a different road to a differnt beach, then decided to try again. We drove as far as we could in our 2-wheel drive car and then hoofed it. In the end it payed off, as the name really got it right.

That night we enjoyed more seafood for dinner. The kids especially loved the sardines.

So did the cats that dined with us.

And the room was warmed once again by the fire in the fireplace.
