Easter in Amsterdam

So the original plan had been to spend the day visiting the tulip fields for this Easter, but as we saw the snow start falling from our beautiful breakfast view we decided on a change of plans. Plus it has been so cold that apparently there isn't much in the way of tulips.

We waiting in line in the snow to visit the Anne Frank house for about 45 minutes.

We had a great visit to the Anne Frank house (no camera's allowed). Jaxon is becoming quite the Holocaust expert.

Next we headed to the Hermitage which is temporarily housing the Van Gogh exhibit while the Van Gogh is renovated. Jaxon was really excited to visit this exhibit as they have been doing some Van Gogh work at school. He is especially excited about “Champ de blé au corbeaux” (Wheatfield with crows), Van Gogh’s final work, and was thrilled when he was able to see the real deal. It is fun to see him get excited about art.
After Van Gogh we headed over to the pancake boat: a tour of the harbor where you enjoy all-you-can-eat pancakes, complete with a ball pit.

Evaëlle enjoyed the baked pear and the applesauce. Probably her first taste of sugar.

When we had gotten on the boat and the lady offered us drinks (starting with a hot chocolate with lots of cream) we jump at it, thinking it was all inclusive. Well, 20 bucks later in drinks had us asking ourselves, "Now, how long have we lived in Europe?" Really, we should have known better...

  1. I see you've all had another amazing world adventure; what else is new?! I think you must have cream in your breast milk because little miss is certainly plumping up!!! Love the kissing photo. Can't wait to see you.

  2. We love Amsterdam! We thought the bike boats were so cool-- how it would transfer people across the canals, and then they'd all bike off the boat and go to work.

Did you see Justin Beiber's lovely comment in Anne Frank's guest book? Or did he come after you guys?
