Our last day in Romania was Eastern Orthodox Easter. As we headed back up to Cluj Napoca we stopped off at Turda Salt Mines. Our expectations were tempered as we have visited some pretty cool salt mines in our times.
It seemed okay at first
And then we hit the salt mine gold mine
This was something that we had never seen before-an amusement hole deep within the salt mine, complete with a play ground, minigolf, table tennis, etc.
Further down still were boat rentals, to paddle around the brine
After our salt mine extravaganza we made the rest of the trek up to cluj napoca
Our car rental retun turned into a sort of fiasco, and Evaëlle's little Romania china doll who had made it this far didn't survive.
This being Easter, the taxi driver offered the children a painted egg each.
Our last dinner in Romania-pasta. A little bit disappointing since Romanian cuisine was such a pleasure, but at least we were able to find that a gas station.
Jaxon's makeshift bed.
Waiting for the plane at 5h00 in the morning.
