Back to the American continent

So we finally organized to make a trip back to the U.S. for the first time in over 4 years! Heading back looked to me a whole lot like when we moved to France in the beginning of our Europe adventure.

Little Eva loved eating the lemons. She was a bit of a handful on the beginning of the trip, but then quickly passed out and slept nearly the entire way.

Should we be embarrassed by this?

We were all ready for the day by 3 in the morning due to the jet lag. As a result we were able to introduce the kids to the wonderful world of 24-hour restaurants. 

After a hearty breakfast we hopped in the rental car and headed down to the good ol' U.S.A

We visited the Zurich zoo for the first time just after school ended. Okay, so I guess we took a lot more pictures of Evaëlle than the animals, but she was clearly the cutest animal in the zoo that day!

End of the school year

Now it is time to catch up! First the aftermath of a major hail storm I got stuck in with the kids. Jonas's comment during the ordeal (in a calm voice), "Mom, I think it is the end of the world." Thank goodness it wasn't! Although the boys were calm while it is going on, now they want to hunker down at home whenever they see a gray cloud on the horizon.

Heading out to watch the Fete de Chene parade, an annual tradition.

These kids are dressed up in out infamous new garbage bags. We were shocked that they were wasting them, at $3 a pop!

Our good friends the Hiatt's came back for a visit from the Phillipines and we were very lucky to get to spend some time with them!!
